Today is the day we celebrate the risen Christ—behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. I am reminded that my ability to heal comes from the power of God: the ability to bring things from death into life. From sickness to health. From sorrow to joy. From darkness into light (and the Light was the Life of men).
In that, I find joy—even if the journey is long—and peace. This peace allows me to rest fully, because I am confident that Jesus’ sacrifice has set me free from sin and death. I do not have to be on my guard all the time.
If you feel like you can never let down your guard, I encourage you to pray. Whatever day you’re reading this—even if it’s not Easter—take a few moments to talk to God. He will meet you.
With that spirit, why don’t you…
—Read the entirety of the book of John?
—Wallpaper your entire house to look like a forest?
—Try a 24-hour fast?
—Sing an answer to every question you’re asked, like you’re in an opera?
—Spend 5 minutes outside, being still, with your eyes closed?
